Mary Egbert

Mary's passion for all things fiber began when she and her husband had a herd of 25 alpacas. Her interests quickly expanded to wools and silks. Her passion for research led her to create a tool to help spinners spin a balanced yarn and delve deep into the world of scouring wool.

Mary has been a physical therapist since 1995 and uses her vast knowledge on body mechanics throughout her courses to prevent overuse injuries. She feels it's important to continue this craft for a very long time which gives us joy and do it pain free.

Mary is owner of Camaj Fiber Arts, the author of the best selling book on scouring fibers, The Art of Washing Wool, Mohair and Alpaca. She is the creator of the Eszee Twist Tool and runs the monthly fiber box called The Spinning Box.

Mary has also traveled the country teaching fiber prep and scouring to many fiber loving folk. Her articles on fiber prep, spinning, small business success secrets and scouring can be seen in magazines such as Spin Off, Ply Away, TinyStudio and has had her photography published in Alpaca Magazine.

Mary lives in Sunny Florida with her husband, has three outstanding daughters and seven amazing grandchildren.

How soon will I have access to the workshop or class?
Immediately after your payment is processed. You will have complete and full access to the workshop or class.
Is the Extravaganza workshop and scouring certification part of the membership subscription?
Yes and no. All the modules in the Extravaganza workshop are in the membership subscription individually. The Scouring Certification class is not part of the membership subscription.
How long will I have access to the Extravaganza workshop and Scouring Certification class?
You will have continued access for a long time, as long as my site and me are roaming the earth. Please review the Terms of Services for clarification.

QUESTIONS ABOUT MONTHLY PAYMENTS PLANS

If I get the monthly payment plan for the Extravagaza workshop or the Scouring Certification class when can I start watching?
Once you join you will have instant access to the first module in the Extravaganza workshop and the first two lessons in the Scouring Certification class.
So I won't be able to see all the modules or lessons after I join?
Correct—on the monthly plan, lessons are released over time rather than all at once. This keeps the learning manageable and gives you time to practice each skill before moving on. As long as your subscription is active, you’ll continue to unlock new lessons and have access to the ones already released.
After my final payment for either of the classes, will I have continued access?
Yes, you will have full and complete access to the Extravaganza workshop and the Scouring Certification class after your final payment. See the outline in the Terms of Service. Please review the details there.
So, what happens if I cancel my monthly payments and don't complete paying the full 6 or 12 months?
Sadly, you will no longer have access to any part of the Extravaganza workshop or the Scouring Certification class. It's best to pay the full monthly payments so you don't lose the benefits of these exciting classes. Please review the Terms of Service for details.

Immediately! You can start watching as soon as your payment is made.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I WATCH CLASSES THAT I PURCHASED?
Watch your class as many times as you like. Take your time taking your class, it is completely self-paced – you decide when you start and when you finish. Our classes are set up to watch on your cell, laptop, ipad or computer. Watch them anywhere and anytime.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE ACCESS TO MY CLASSES?
As long as Camaj School of Fiber Arts is alive and well, you will continue to have access. See Term of Service for details.
CAN I SHARE MY ACCOUNT USERNAME AND PASSWORD WITH MY FRIENDS?
No, membership login credentials may not be shared per the Term & Services. If you do share them you run the risk of being banned. We would hate to see that happen. However, we would be tickled pink if you recommended our school to your friends and they signed up with their own account.
